Do people who enjoy fast cars also enjoy plane rides?

I have a friend who says he loves "speed". He likes to go fast. He drives his car fast, drag races, enjoys watching car races. One time, we went on a trip together on a plane. I though he would be fascinated and amazingly excited about going at a speed of 600 miles per hour! But he didn't seem to enjoy the flight at all. In fact, he fell asleep on the plane. Why do some people enjoy fast cars? And why wouldn't these same people be excited about flying in a plane at much greater speeds?

because you can feel the speed and the adrenaline rush when you're in a car, but in a plane it dosen't really feel like your moving at all :/ although i do enjoy take off and landing :)
